Registered Hygienists are strictly governed and required to maintain continuing education and healthcare provider CPR training. Our hygienists concentrate on preventative dental care, which is key to keeping your teeth and gums healthy. Your oral health can also impact your overall general health. The hygienist will perform a comprehensive dental hygiene oral exam which will include radiographs and measuring your gum health. They remove plaque and calculus (tartar) from above and below your gums to prevent gum disease and bone loss. Polishing of the teeth also removes stain and biofilm which can cause gum disease. Fluoride may be administered to help keep your enamel strong.
